Throughout the year, families are warmly invited to be part of the major events and celebrations that bring our school community together. Each term, our school comes together for whole-school events that celebrate student achievement, culture, creativity and community spirit. These shared experiences create opportunities for families, students and staff to connect, celebrate and build a strong sense of belonging at Narwee Public School.

Harmony Day
Harmony day is a special opportunity for our school community to celebrate inclusiveness, diversity and belonging. Throughout Harmony week, students participate in a range of teaching and learning activities that promote respect, understanding, kindness and inclusion. Students celebrate Harmony week by wearing orange, the colour representing Harmony Day. Harmony day contributes to our efforts in celebrating diversity and recognises the importance of making everyone feel that they belong.
Easter Hat Parade
The Easter Hat Parade is an annual school and community event that brings a joyful celebration filled with colourful, creative hats and eggs on legs designs. Our Stage 3 students in the lead up to the event work with their K-2 buddies on completing an Easter Hat at school for the younger students to wear during their parade. The Stage 2 and 3 students create an 'Eggs on Legs' creative display at home. Families and friends join us to celebrate and support this exciting event.
Multicultural Day
Our annual Multicultural Day celebrates the many cultures, traditions and experiences that make our school community unique. Students participate in engaging workshops led by staff, parents and carers, exploring the sharing of cultural practices, traditions and celebrations unique to their culture. Students proudly wear traditional clothing and take part in a Parade of Nations, showcasing the wonderful diversity of cultures represented at our school. Families stay for a picnic lunch following the activities.
100 Days of Kindergarten
The 100th day of kindergarten is a special milestone that is celebrated with fun and engaging activities. To mark this occasion, students enjoy a day full of fun with their teachers and peers. Student engage in activities including sports, arts and crafts, a disco and a movie. This milestone is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and reflect on everything they have learned during their first 100 days of school.
Reconciliation Events
We celebrate our commitment to Aboriginal Education by engaging in whole school planned activities during Reconciliation, NAIDOC and through the curriculum. Reconciliation Week is an opportunity for our school to learn about, respect and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contributions. Classrooms participate in creating Deadly Door Display using student artwork reflective of the National theme. All classrooms investigate Aboriginal art patterns, lines and designs to incorporate into their class displays.
Education Week
Education Week is an opportunity for our school community to celebrate the importance of Public Education and recognise the dedication of our students, teachers, staff and families. Through open classrooms, creative displays and a showcase of our Creative Arts performances and Flash Mob, our school shares the learning journey of all the students in the many way education inspires and helps individuals grow. Our Education Week closes with a picnic lunch enjoyed on our playground with families and friends.
Book Week
Book Week is a celebration of reading, books, and the joy of storytelling. Students enjoy a weeklong schedule including an illustrator visit, book hunts on the playground, engaging book activities in the library program and encouraging a love of reading and exploring new books. Our annual Book Week Parade gives students the opportunity to dress as their favourite book character. It is a much-loved celebration with families and friends invited to observe the parade.
Annual Christmas Walk
Our annual Christmas Walk brings the joy of the festive season into the Narwee community. Students walk through the local community singing festive carols and spreading messages of joy and goodwill. As part of the event, students participate in gift giving, learning the importance of kindness, generosity and supporting families in need. We are grateful for the support the Lighthouse and Campsie Police Command, who help make this special community celebration possible.
P&C Event
Our P&C supports the school through a range of fundraising events and school community drives. This year, the P&C hosted a Colour Run, creating a fun, vibrant and memorable event for students. The event was warmly supported by parents, carers, bringing families together and celebrating the fundraising efforts of our school community.
Family Night
Our annual family night brings our school and wider community together for a relaxed evening of music, dance, food and connection. Families are invited to pack a picnic an enjoy an evening of entertainment by The KAMIs, a musical band on our large field. Food trucks, face painting and our play spaces create a welcoming atmosphere for families and the wider community to connect, celebrate and celebrate the end of the school year
First day of school for 2027
All students return for the 2027 school year on Wednesday 3 February.
