At Narwee Public School we offer a range of opportunities in the Creative domain for students to discover, develop and showcase their talents through enriching learning opportunities.
Students can explore their creativity, build confidence and enjoy exciting performance opportunities through our Dance and Drumming Programs. with experienced and dedicated teachers.
The HPGE creative experiences are open to all students who demonstrate potential in areas of the Arts (Music, Dance, Drumming and Ukelele group).
Students audition to perform at school and community events including the Combined Public Schools Music Festival and In the Spotlight Dance Festival.
Rich opportunities and activities
At Narwee Public School, we provide high potential and gifted students with a wide range of opportunities to develop, challenge and showcase their physical abilities.
Students are encouraged to participate in athletics carnivals, with pathways to compete at district and zone levels, as well as a variety of sporting competitions throughout the year.
Our dedicated PSSA coaches train students weekly, developing their skills, teamwork, confidence and sportsmanship through seasonal sporting opportunities.
With carnivals, competitions and sporting events offered all year round, students are supported to pursue their sporting passions, strive for personal excellence and reach their full potential.

Our students engage with HPGE education in the classroom, in our school, and across NSW.
At Narwee Public School, we support high potential and gifted students by providing learning experiences that challenge their thinking and promote growth.
We design tasks that are appropriately paced and challenging, focusing on developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills through meaningful, cross-curricular projects. We use ongoing assessments to monitor progress and offer constructive feedback to help students set and achieve clear learning goals
Our classrooms foster a safe and flexible environment that encourages collaboration, independent thinking, and a willingness to take risks.
In PDHPE, students work on specific skills such as coordination and agility and have opportunities to take leadership roles in team activities.
Overall, we aim to create a supportive space where students build confidence, creativity, and resilience.

At Narwee Public School, we offer a wide range of opportunities to support and enrich our Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE) students both within the school and the wider community. Our students take part in system wide opportunities such as:
- The Premier’s Spelling Bee which promotes our students’ vocabulary development and attention to detail in competitive settings.
- The Premier’s Debating Challenge helps our students to build logical arguments and confidence in public speaking.
- Our Enrichment Partnerships with local high schools deepen our students’ intellectual curiosity while developing innovation and collaboration.
- The Primary Schools Combined Music Festival and the Bankstown East Hills Dance Festival celebrates the talents, diversity and creativity of students through singing, dancing and drumming.
- The Representative School Sport Pathway and PSSA events enable our students to trial and compete in sports at regional, state and national levels, fostering discipline, commitment and collaboration.
Mindmasters Tournament
The Mindmasters tournament held at Kingsgrove High School provides our high-potential students with an engaging project-based learning challenge designed to extend their thinking beyond the classroom. Students are challenged to apply higher-order thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills as they tackle complex tasks and develop innovative solutions.
Working collaboratively, students are encouraged to think critically, take risks, communicate their ideas and draw on their individual strengths. The experience provides an authentic opportunity for students to challenge themselves, develop resilience and experience the satisfaction of applying their talents to meaningful and stimulating learning experiences.
School Camp
At Narwee Public School, we believe some of the most powerful learning happens beyond the classroom. Our school camp provides students with opportunities to explore new environments, embrace challenges and try things they may not have experienced before.
These experiences nurture high potential by encouraging students to think independently, solve problems, make decisions and work collaboratively. Students develop resilience, confidence and leadership as they navigate new experiences and learn to step outside their comfort zones.
Camp also allows students to see the connections between their learning and the world around them, developing skills that extend beyond the classroom and supporting them to become confident, capable and curious lifelong learners.
Fund Day
Our Year 6 Fun Day provides students with an exciting opportunity to put their strengths, creativity and leadership skills into action. Working collaboratively, students design and run their own stalls, developing ideas, planning resources, managing money and engaging with the wider school community to raise funds.
The experience encourages students to think creatively, solve problems, take initiative and work effectively as a team. Students draw on their individual strengths and talents, with opportunities to demonstrate high potential across creativity, intellectual thinking, social-emotional skills and leadership.
More than just a day of fun, Year 6 Fun Day empowers our students to take ownership, turn their ideas into action and experience the satisfaction of making a positive contribution to their school community.
Belonging/KARI Program
Our KARI program provides a welcoming space for Aboriginal students to connect with one another, build a strong sense of belonging and develop pride in their culture and identity. Through cultural learning, shared experiences and meaningful conversations, students strengthen their connections to Country, culture and community while developing confidence in their own strengths and abilities.
The program also supports our commitment to High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) by creating opportunities for students to identify, explore and develop their individual talents and strengths. By providing culturally responsive opportunities for leadership, creativity, collaboration and learning, KARI empowers students to recognise their potential, celebrate their achievements and aspire to success.
Most importantly, KARI creates a safe and supportive space where students feel connected, valued and proud of who they are.
