Creative Arts
Narwee Public School offers an exceptional Creative Arts program. We have a nurturing environment where children can explore and grow through the creative arts. These opportunities help students build confidence, imagination and a love of learning.
Our arts program includes
Music learning — We are unique as we fund a fully qualified Music Teacher and students enjoy weekly lessons from Kindergarten to Year 6. Every child in the school learns through singing, body percussion, instruments, movement and composing.
Classroom visual arts — Students regularly create artworks using paint, drawing, collage and mixed media, helping them express ideas and develop fine‑motor skills.
Drama and performance — Opportunities to act, role‑play and present to others help students build communication skills and creativity.
Cultural and community arts — Creative activities often connect with First Nations culture and community events, giving students a sense of belonging and pride.
Showcase opportunities — Assemblies, displays, Art Galleries and special events allow students to share their creative work with families and the school community.
Library
Our school library is a vibrant learning hub that fosters a love of reading, curiosity and lifelong learning. Gardening
Our gardening program is a vibrant learning experience that enriches science skills and supports interest in outdoor learning experiences. Students engage in weekly hands on activities in our school garden. Through seasonal planting, caring and harvesting the garden, students connect classroom learning to the real world.

Recorder Group
Our creative domain extra-curricular offering inspires the younger children to explore their imagination, express themselves with confidence and develop new skills through art, music, drama in a hands-on creative experience.
Our recorder group:
- Develops foundational musical skills through learning to play the recorder.
- Supports the development of fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
- Builds confidence, concentration and perseverance through regular practice
- Promotes responsibility and commitment as students work towards shared goals.
- Enhances listening skills, rhythm, timing and musical understanding.

Playgroup
Our playgroup provides a welcoming environment for children aged 0-5 years and their families to learn and play together. Through songs, stories and creative hands-on experiences, our weekly playgroup sessions support young children with a smooth and successful transition into school.
Our Playgroup:
- Supports early language, literacy, social and communication development through engaging activities.

Our school program offering, STEAM, prepares students for the digital world and introduction to coding and robotics. This equips students with critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for life beyond school.
Our STEAM Group:
- Provides students with the latest 21st century coding technologies for creative and hands-on activities that spark curiosity including: 3D printers, Spheros, Beet Bots, Sphero Indi, Dash robots and many more.
- Teaching and learning encourages open-ended imaginative play- based learning with real life scenarios as students code mazes and solve problems using technology.
- Students across K-6 are introduced to the fundamentals of computational thinking, STEAM and computer science principles in a collaborative and engaging way.
KARI Program
Our KARI is an integral part to our holistic approach to service delivery, providing our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children with an opportunity to flourish.
Our KARI program:
- Fortnightly program delivering educational activities that are supportive and develop a connection to community and culture.
- Opportunities for ‘Yarn’ provides students with a sense of belonging and connection to their culture.
