Our Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents and carers, teachers and community members. The P&C meets regularly to productively collaborate with the school to help foster engagement and positive learning and wellbeing outcomes. Our shared focus on parent and community engagement is to enhance student outcomes.
The Department has committed to 5 Key principles in its approach to engage parents and carers:
The role of our P&C as set out in the Education Act 1990 is to:
Promote the interests of the school by bringing parents, citizens, students and teaching staff in close cooperation to assist in providing facilities and equipment for the school, and in promoting the recreation and welfare of the students at the school.
All parents and carers and community are welcome to come along to a P&C meeting. It is a great way to keep in touch with the ‘bigger picture’ of what is happening in our school. Our meetings are friendly and informal. You will not be asked to take on any tasks that you are not comfortable with.
By fostering a culture of respect and collaboration, we can create inclusive environments and forge strong connections for our thriving school community.
For more information and ways on how you can contribute to our school community, come along and attend the next P&C meeting and partner together with our school community.
